Theme: Numbers demonstrates that wrong choices bring specific consequences. When the first generation of Israelite’s that left Egypt rebelled against God and sinned against His law, its members were forces to spend years wandering n the wilderness – though God intended them to spend that those years in the Promised Land.

Structure: The first ten chapters contain legal instruction and a census (“numbering”).  The remaining records the wandering along with complaints against God and Moses.
